After you have finished registering an account on the site layerfarm.com you will get a username and password that is sent via email. Furthermore, please log in using the username and password you created on the site.
Once you have successfully logged in we will go to the main page of layerfarm, there are 5 main menu on the page.
5 menu on Layer Farm :
- Recording : Menu to perform inputting / daily recording based on the house that you have previously set.
- Activity : Menu to monitor the daily activities that have been carried out.
- Chart : Menu to see the development of the layer based on the graph, from this graph we can see the problems and make decisions on issues that occur.
- Expense : Menu to see the costs incurred each house / cage.
- Desk : The main menu management layer, the Desk menu will be found some of the menu, the details will be discussed at the next session.
- Menu no. 1 to no. 4 was originally going to appear empty / blank because data have not we prepare. We must prepare to head DESK menu. On the menu will be visible DESK multiple layer settings menu for our farm.
1.Setting Layer Farm
1.1Farm
The initial step in the use of layer farm is we prepare our data layer. Please follow the instructions below.
- We prepare our Farm, please headed DESK menu, then click Management -> Farm and click the Add New Farm.

Please fill in the farm name, address, and state your farm.
- The farm name that has been created will appear after we press the Save button.
1.2 House
House in practice in the field like a cage. So after we made the Farm, then we need to create a house that will be placed on our farm.
- In the house structure is under the Farm, to make it please you to the menu Management -> House and click the Add New House.
- Please fill in the data requested.
Field Type house there are two options, namely floor and cage. Floor usually a hens coop which are free to roam the floor of the cage, hens cage while confined in an iron cage. Period also consists of two types, namely grower and layer, growers are cages for rearing hens, and period for hens layer that is ready to produce eggs.
- Name of the house that has been created will appear after we press the Save button.
1.3 Feed
Feed is one of the items that must be considered, from the feed will be seen whether we feed is appropriate and what is the cost we issued therefore we need to create a database of regular feed given to hens, the following steps:
- To make it please you to the menu Management -> Feeds and click the Add New Feed.
- Please fill in the feed name and click Save to save the type of feed.
- Feed that has been inputted will be visible on the page feed
1.4 Medication & Vaccination
Medicine and vaccines is also important that we should also pay attention to improving the results of our hens production. In this system required a database of drugs and vaccines that we often use, his next goal will be seen if there is an increase egg production and costs incurred from drugs and vaccines will be visible anyway. To fill the medicine data and vaccines please follow the steps as follows:
- To make it please you to the menu Management -> Medication & Vaccination and click the Add New Item.
- Please fill in the product name, vendor, weight, unit, and the type of product and click Save to save the type of medication and vaccination.
- Medication & Vaccination who have inputted will be visible on the page medication.
1.5 Price List
Medicine, vaccines and feed requires the price of each item of data. The price later as costs are added for each medicine, vaccine or feed used in every house. To fill the price list please follow the steps as follows:
1. Make sure you are on the page DESK, then please you to the menu Management -> Price List and click the Edit button on each item (hens, vaccines / medicine or feed).

4. To add price please click Edit in one item.
- Please fill in the product name, vendor, weight, unit, and the type of product and click Save to save the type of medication and vaccination / feed / hens.
3. The data that has been inputted price list will appear.
1.6 Rearing
After the farm and house made, then we fill in the house that we have previously made with our hens. Steps - steps as follows:
- To enter the house to please your hens towards Rearing and click the Add New Hatch Date.
- Please fill in the data requested.
In detail will be described as follows based on the points in the image above:
1. Hatch Date : The start date of hens prepared
2. Strain : Type of laying hens, to see the optimum parameters of the graph.
3. Distribution : The number of laying hens in each house / cage
4. Start Recording : Date start recording. In the hatching duration, can be started recording after hatching duration. If the recording start time of hatching can be emptied.
1.7 User Management
If your farm will dimanagement by multiple users, you can set the privacy rights or restrictions that can be performed by any user. To set it up, please follow the steps below:
- To add a new user please click Management -> User Management and click the Add New User.
- Please fill in the data requested.
2. Layer Farm Activity
2.1 Input House Activity
If it is on the Dashboard, please follow the steps below:
- Click the recording menu in the left corner.
- Then it will show a page Daily Recording, will look house name, type, and date of entry. Click on the entry date to pass data entry.
- Please enter in each field based activities undertaken such as temperature (morning, afternoon, evening), humidity (morning, afternoon, evening), lighting, medicine or vaccine, feed consumption, death, transfer hens, hens and record the final production activities done.
In detail will be discussed below are based on the points listed in the image above:
- House temperature : Temperature house / cage consists of a temperature in the morning, afternoon and evening.
- Humidity : Humidity house consists of humidity in the morning, afternoon and evening.
- Lighting Program : light settings
- Medication & Vaccination : Administration of medicine and vaccines
- Feed Comsumption : feed consumption
- Mortality/ culling : Death, consisting of:
- Die (Sick): Death due to illness.
- Die (Mechanics): Dead as a result of mechanical, such as pinched, crushed, etc.
- Die (Other): Death due to other causes, such as surgical hens, etc.
- Killed: Reduction hens as selected. For example due to a disability, too small, etc. which hens are not feasible if maintained continuously so turned off
- Culling: Reduction hens as selected, but not turned off, because it can still be used. Eg sale, etc.
- Transfer : Transfer hens to another house.
- Bird Finish Production : limit the final production of a hens house / coop.
Process daily transactions should be done every day, because the data will be used as a report to achieve optimal production.
3. Layer Farm Chart
Chart is a graph generated from daily transactions layerfarm.com successfully inputted into the system, this will be displayed on the chart house / cage that we set, and there will be a line that indicates a potential line (yellow) that should be achieved, or at least its range not too far. To view it please follow these steps:
- Click CHART on Home page
2. If the daily transaction data we have enough, eventually it will show the following chart as an example:
We can see the presentation of each house / cage with a cursor pointing us to every house which contained a line on the chart.
4. Expense
Expense is the cost that you spend at each house / cage for various purposes such as daily feeding, medication, vitamins, vaccines etc. To view it please follow these steps:
- Click EXPENSE on Home page
- If the daily transaction data we've entered per day, eventually it will show the cost that we incur. You can look at the following example:
